Smell like Christmas

Transform your home into a festive wonderland with the delightful scents of Christmas.

Christmas is just around the corner, which means it’s time to put up the tree and decorate the house with everything red! Keeping track of the gift shopping list can be overwhelming, and with so many Christmas parties, we all know we’ll be indulging in brownies and the traditional plum cake. The holiday season brings so much joy as we get to spend time with our friends and family. Also, evenings call for hot chocolate, and my favourite part is wearing the cosiest pyjamas while watching Home Alone – it has become a tradition now! There are a lot of mixed yet best feelings, and it’s not just for one day but lasts the entire season. So, to fill your home with the scent of Christmas, here are some ways:

1

Light a Candle

Well, honestly my favourites are the candles from Bath and Body Works. They are made with essential oils so they smell wonderful!

MY TOP 5 PICKS:

– Winter candy apple
– Warm vanilla sugar
– Merry maple bourbon
– Champagne toast
– Marshmallow fireside

2

Use Essential Oils

Essential oils are easy to diffuse and their fragrance can last for a long time. To enjoy the aroma, simply drop your favourite essential oil into an essential oil diffuser in the evening. However, it’s important to dilute the oil in water first to balance the strong concentrated smell. There are two types of diffusers available: one with a candle and the other which is electric.

MY TOP 3 PICKS:
-Forest Essentials ‘Kashmiri Nagris’
-Marks & Spencers ‘CALM’
-Marks & Spencers ‘Grapefruit, Ginger & Pomelo’

Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies

One of my favourite memories with my Grandmother is baking Chocolate chip cookies! Not only is the process of baking therapeutic and a great excuse to spend time with loved ones, but it also brings a smile to their faces. Nothing beats the aroma of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Here’s one of my favourite recipe links which is super easy to follow. Try it out and thank me later!

4

Switch it up to the Fancy Hand Washes

One of the easiest ways to keep your hands smelling fresh is to switch from regular hand soap to a scented hand wash liquid. There are some really nice options available from Bath and Body Works.

“For the holiday season, I enjoy:”
-Pumpkin spice
-’Tis the Season
-Lavender Vanilla
-Twisted Peppermint
-Champagne Toast

Simmer a Pot

Trust me! This will make your home smell like Christmas morning! It’s super easy and literally a two-step process. Add oranges, cloves, rosemary, cranberries and cinnamon sticks to a pot of water and simmer it on the stove to fill your home with those mulling scents. Just keep an eye on the water level and add more as it starts to evaporate.
